Blueberry Toner Mask to Restore Damaged Skin

The blueberry facial toner mask will help rid your skin of harmful chemicals and toxins that damaged skin cells. Did you stay out in the sun too longer or have too much fun out with the girls the night before? If so, you will love this Blueberry Toner Mask. This homemade facial toner mask will help restore the skin without the harsh chemicals that are placed in so many of the 'well known' anti-oxidant brands of skin care. The blueberries are full of natural anti-oxidants to help rid the skin of harmful chemicals while the sour cream you will use is full of protein to help restore the skin's natural vitamins.

You will need:

  • 3 tablespoons steamed or cooked crushed blueberries
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

You will need to use this mixture as soon as you make it. This isn't a recipe you can use twice in one making. So, make sure to use your best judgment.

You will need to steam or cook the blueberries. I usually crush the blueberries and then just steam them in the microwave -- but you can just boil the blueberries and mush them up after you have strained them from the boiling water.

After you have prepared your blueberries, you will need to mix them up with a half cup of sour cream. If you don't have sour cream - you can use yogurt if you have it on hand.  Sour cream actually has more calcium with helps restore the skins natural proteins.

Blend well. You can beat the mixture with a fork in a bowl for about 5 minutes, or use a blender. Whichever you choose, make sure the mixture is a bit fluffier than normal sour cream texture.

Apply to your face and neck for a good 20 to 30 minutes. You can leave the mask on longer if your skin is in drastic need of care and nutrients -- especially if you had a long day at the beach or at the bar. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
