How to Make An Acne Facial Mask - Acne Treatment Using Green Clay

If you want to know how to make your own facial mask to rid yourself of acne overnight, I have the remedy. I've used and also I've made lots of different acne masks over the years. I have found that the store bought brands only dry up my skin and never clear up my acne.

I have found success with a few homemade remedies, including a lemon acne mask and a basil acne treatment -- they both work wonderfully. Sometimes, though, I just want a facial mask that helps restore my skin and takes away acne. I think I have found a mixture that combines the elements of facial mask and acne mask in one.

You Will Need:
  • 1 teaspoon powdered green clay
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 drop rose essential oil

Personally, I recommend that you do a facial steam session before you apply this mask. Why? Because the steam helps open up the pores in your skin so that all the ingredients soak in better. Also because you steam clean all the toxins off your skin before applying. You can just take a hot shower or you can use a hot bowl of water and a towel. Lean over the steamy bowl for about 15 minutes and you are good to go!

I like to go ahead and mix all of the ingredients for this acne mask ahead of time. Basically, you want to have it ready right after you steam your skin. So to prepare better, go ahead and prepare your acne mask by simply mixing all the ingredients together first. You can blend them or stir the facial mask thoroughly.

After you have cleansed and steamed your skin, just apply the mask to your skin and let that sit for one hour.
Kick back and relax. Watch some television, kick back and play on facebook, or just listen to chill music and get the entire spa experience. You will start to feel the mask dry in about an hour and that's when it time to take it off.

Just rinse with luke-warm water and scrub in circular motion. That's it! Enjoy and cheers!

Honey Oatmeal Facial Mask for Every Skin Type

Honey is an organic antiseptic, as well as a natural toner. What does that mean for your skin? it means that the honey will naturally take out all the toxins in your skin as well as help tone your skin at the same time. When you mix honey with Oatmeal, you have a perfect combination for any facial mask. Oatmeal is a natural exfoiliant and mositurizer. Together, this is a powerhouse for skin care.

Things you will need:
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt or buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

All you need to do is ground up the Oatmeal finely in a blender or food processor. Set that aside and then in a small bowl throw together the honey and yogurt.  You should mix just the yogurt and honey together, make sure it's mixed thoroughly.

Add your ground up Oatmeal together with the honey and yogurt and mix until all the Oatmeal has been disputed evenly. That's it, you are done!

Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes.  Rinse off with warm water and pat your skin dry. This recipe can be used daily, just make sure that you don't dry out your skin or irritate it.

Apple Cucumber Facial Mask For Oily Sensitive Skin

If your skin is oily but yet very sensitive to most skin products and cosmetics, you should love this recipe! I personally use this homemade facial mask constantly simply because --- my skin hates me. I have slightly oily skin myself, but yet it's very sensitive to most skin care products. The cucumbers help calm and soothe the skin while to apple in this recipes helps absorb natural oils to keep my skin too oily. It's really simple to make and it's really lovely on my skin.

Things you will need:

  • 1/2 peeled cucumber
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 thick slice of apple
  • Several mint leaves
  • 1 drop lime essential oil

I always start off with this recipe by peeling the cucumber and cutting the cucumber into half. After I cut the cucumber in half, I normally save one half and cut into slices to use on my eyes. (Hey! Why not?)
Grab an egg, crack it and separate the yellow from the egg white. Throw away the yolk. Add the lemon juice, lime juice, mint leaves and essential oil into a bowl and stir.

After that cut an apple in half and slice it into a halves. You can eat the other half or throw it away. Whatever you want to do with it. I prefer to cut the one half of the apple into slices.

Add the cucumbers, egg white mixture and the apple slices into a blender and blend well until it's basically liquified.

Apply a thick layer to your face and neck area and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. I usually sit back and chill with the cucumber slices on my eyes while the mask has time to work it's magic.
It's best to use this homemade facial recipe as soon as possible and discard. However, you can store left-overs for 1 to 2 days tops in the coldest part of your fridge.

Blueberry Toner Mask to Restore Damaged Skin

The blueberry facial toner mask will help rid your skin of harmful chemicals and toxins that damaged skin cells. Did you stay out in the sun too longer or have too much fun out with the girls the night before? If so, you will love this Blueberry Toner Mask. This homemade facial toner mask will help restore the skin without the harsh chemicals that are placed in so many of the 'well known' anti-oxidant brands of skin care. The blueberries are full of natural anti-oxidants to help rid the skin of harmful chemicals while the sour cream you will use is full of protein to help restore the skin's natural vitamins.

You will need:

  • 3 tablespoons steamed or cooked crushed blueberries
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

You will need to use this mixture as soon as you make it. This isn't a recipe you can use twice in one making. So, make sure to use your best judgment.

You will need to steam or cook the blueberries. I usually crush the blueberries and then just steam them in the microwave -- but you can just boil the blueberries and mush them up after you have strained them from the boiling water.

After you have prepared your blueberries, you will need to mix them up with a half cup of sour cream. If you don't have sour cream - you can use yogurt if you have it on hand.  Sour cream actually has more calcium with helps restore the skins natural proteins.

Blend well. You can beat the mixture with a fork in a bowl for about 5 minutes, or use a blender. Whichever you choose, make sure the mixture is a bit fluffier than normal sour cream texture.

Apply to your face and neck for a good 20 to 30 minutes. You can leave the mask on longer if your skin is in drastic need of care and nutrients -- especially if you had a long day at the beach or at the bar. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Avocado Carrot Anti-Aging Facial Mask Recipe

This simple anti-aging facial mask recipe contains the rich ingredients of avocados, carrots and cream. The avocados contain rich Vitamin E and the carrots are high in beta-carotene. The cream that you will use is really rich with calcium and protein. All of these ingredients make for the perfect anti-aging facial mask. This facial recipe will help rebuild skin cells and skin collagen while improving the tone and texture of your skin.

Things you will need:
  • 1  mashed avocado
  • 1 cooked carrot mashed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
First you wanted to just boil the carrot or you can cook it in the microwave, after all it won't be your dinner - it's just going on your face.

While you are cooking your carrot, go ahead and mash up your whole avocado into a medium size bowl. It's best to go ahead and beat up the medium size egg in the bowl with the mashed avocado.

Add the 3 tablespoons of honey. Once your carrot is fully cooked, let it cool off for about 5 minutes and then mash the carrot into the bowl with the rest of the mixture.

You should spread this anti-aging facial mask evenly over your face and neck. Let in place for 10 to 20 minutes. Go relax and put your feet up and let the mask undo the damage for you.

Rinse the mask off with lukewarm water. Follow up with your favorite toner or moisturizer.
