How To Make Your Own Skin Toner

Skin toners are used to help reduce troublesome skin problems such as oily skin, blackheads, breakouts, and other issues involving your skin.  Skin toners can also help reduce redness in the face caused by blemishes and scars from acne.  Skin care products seem to get more expensive every day, so why not make your own? You can get the same effects without the heavy price, plus you can cut out all the harmful chemicals in the process.

*Alum
*A boiling pot of water
*Herbs
*A small container
*Distilled Water

Determine what your skin type is before you start.  The most common skin types are normal skin, dry skin, oily skin or combination which is both dry in some areas and oily in other areas of your face.  Once you have figured out which type of skin you have, you can start to find the magic natural cure!

FOR DRY SKIN TYPES:  If you have dry skin, then you need something that will put the moisture back into your skin.  You don't need anything type of toner that would dry your skin out even more.  You can make a simple mint toner that works amazingly well on dry skin.  All you need is to boil two handfuls of mint leaves in about 2 cups of water.  Mix up two teaspoons of the boiled mint leaf water into DISTILLED WATER and add a teaspoon of alum.  Mix it up and store in a container.

FOR OILY SKIN TYPES: If you have oily skin, then you need something to dry up the oily areas without drying out skin completely.  Remember, that even oily skin needs moisture.  To make a potion for your oily skin, you will need to take one teaspoon of alcohol and about 2 cups of distilled water.  Mix them together.  Add half a teaspoon of alum.  Try it out on your skin, if it seems to dry out your skin too much, add another teaspoon of distilled water.  You should store this in the refrigerator to preserve the solution longer.

FOR COMBINATION SKIN TYPES: This is the most common type of problem skin.  Usually you have oily skin around your nose and forehead and everywhere else is very dry.  In this case, you need something that will moisturize and reduce the oil.  To make a skin toner for this skin type you need to mix up a teaspoon of alum, a cup of distilled water, and 2 teaspoons of glycerin.  You can simply store this in a container on a shelf.
